Step-by-Step Registration Process for Amarnath Yatra 2026
1. Online Registration
You can register online through the Shri amarnathji shrine board official SASB website only
Steps to Register Online:
- First of all do ready all required documents for registrations.
- Visit the official shrine website SASB portal.
- Select your Amarnath Yatra dates and route (Baltal or Pahalgam).
- Fill in your all required personal details.
- Upload necessary documents (Medical certificate and photo).
- Pay the registration fees.
Download and print your Yatra Permit.
2. Offline Registration
Offline registration is available at select branches of Punjab National Bank, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, ICICI Bank and YES Bank across India.
Process:
- Visit a designated bank branch.
- Collect and fill out the registration form.
- Submit ID proof, Medical certificate (CHC), photos and other required documents if need.
- Pay the Registration fees
Get your Yatra Permit issued after verification.

Amarnath Yatra Routes
Pilgrims can choose between two routes for the yatra:
- Pahalgam Route – Traditional path, scenic but longer (around 36–48 km).
Baltal Route – Shorter (around 14 km), steep, preferred for helicopter journeys and quick darshan.
✈️ Helicopter options are available from Neelgrath (Baltal) and Pahalgam to Panchtarni.
Medical Fitness & CHC Requirement
All pilgrims-
- Age: Between the ages of 13year to 70Year
- Lady: Pregnant lady less then 06 weeks pregnancy only.
Must submit a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by Shri Amarnathji shrine board authorized doctors/institutes authorized only.

- The Amarnath Yatra is physically demanding due to high altitudes (3,888 meters).
CHC ensures you are fit to undertake the yatra.

Important Guidelines for Pilgrims
- Without valid registration pass/yatra permit, no one is allowed to proceed beyond base camps.
- Carry multiple copies of your Yatra Permit and ID proof.

- Avoid last-minute registration to prevent delays and limited slot availability.
- Pilgrims Age below 13Y and above 70Y and Lady more than six weeks pregnancy are now allowed.
